EDF Renewables is seeking for its the Industry Division a



PMO Senior Project Manager Renewable Energy - MEA (M/F)



Reporting to the PMO Area Manager Middle East & Africa, you will undertake some of the responsibilities, tasks and duties listed below:

Be responsible to foster a pro-active Health and Safety culture within the project organizations and Units of his/her perimeter as well with the main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers;



Act as technical leader for complex large scale projects in Middle East and Africa region; including international tenders, renewable auctions, contracting, etc, ensuring always the technical solution proposed is optimized, at acceptable risk level and in line with renewable technology roadmaps and the EDF-R good practices and policies;

Manage a project team of engineers, procurement managers and O&M specialists;

Manage the negotiation of the contracts that will govern the execution of the project;

Closely work with the Business Development Project Team and with the Finance Team to optimize the project;

Be responsible for the technical inputs of the project's Business Plan; 

Ensure a consistent approach (technical and commercial) on the projects of the area, in alignment of the good practices, Policies and guidelines of the Industry Division;

Set out and selectively participate in the governance bodies of the projects of the area;

Assess and ensure the project impact and value creation against strategic directives;

Provide appropriate recommendations or options for action;

Influence and manage the process of resource allocation;

Support and assist Project Managers and Sponsors to set-up and enforce project governance principles on selected projects across the group in order to ensure consistency with group policies and best practices;

Facilitate and occasionally participate in strategic or operational bodies; project boards or technical steering committees;

Provide regular update on his / her project to the management and to the governance bodies in place;

Organize and monitor project reviews, peer reviews, technical rescue missions to support projects of his/her perimeter;

Support and assist project teams of the Group on technical and project management matters, processes, tools and methods;

Profil recherché




The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in Engineering, Business management or equivalent and minimum 5 years of experience in a project management position delivering Renewable Energy services ideally in Solar farms and BESS plants. A proven successful previous International experience is a must.



Added to that you have a substantial experience in Renewable Energy projects with emphasis on both the upstream phase (competitive bidding, contracting, pre-construction...) and the downstream phase (project construction and delivery monitoring, contract management, support to local project teams) to undertake the technical  lead responsibility and manage the technical workstreams (engineering, procurement and construction) of various projects applying a regional project portfolio approach.



COMPETENCIES

Project Management: understands the application of all related Knowledge Areas (scope, cost, time, quality, HSE, risk, communications, etc), able to coordinate several workstreams running in parallel. PMP certification is a plus.

Technical Management: understands common fields of engineering (civil, electrical) with strong knowledge and understanding of Solar and Storage technologies and in general the renewables Sector..

Contract Management: understands interactions between contract and project management. Familiar with the contractual schemes and frameworks used in the Sector; incl. PPAs, EPCs, O&Ms, MSAs, BOSs, OEs, agreements.…

Substantial experience in power plants and in particular in project management of renewable projects (either in development, bidding, construction or operation phase)

Substantial experience in power plants and in particular in project management of renewable projects (either in development, bidding, construction or operation phase)

Experience in management of multi split construction contracts

Extended PC knowledge (MS Office, integrated project management and scheduling tools



HARD SKILLS

Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies (a PMP certification is a plus)

Software: integrated project management tools, scheduling tools, Office Suite

Fluent English communication (oral and written). French as a second language is a plus. Arabic/Spanish or other languages is a nice to have
